Who We Are
Transfiguration Parish School was founded by the Carmelite Friars in 1949. In 2014, the school became Transfiguration Regional School until it ceased operations in June of 2024.
In September of 2024, under the Guidance once again of the Carmelite Friars, Transfiguration Parish School reopened as a Carmelite Academy in Honor of St. Joseph the Worker.
We proudly educate, nurture and support Grades PreK 3 and PreK 4, honoring the little lambs that are the essence of Catholic Education. Our staff is comprised of professionally educated and New York State Certified personnel who seek to impart the wisdom, support and guidance of Catholic Education.
Curriculum
At Transfiguration Parish School, we seek to embark on a journey of learning through student-centered, hands-on learning. Through the implementation of the Creative Curriculum, our students are educated through various components of academic support. The Creative Curriculum seeks to promote the development of a child’s fine motor, gross motor and sensor skills. This is done through a unique blend of learning prompts.
Among these prompts include literacy, dramatic play, block play, manipulatives, art, sensory tools, music/movement, outdoor play and discovery science. It is through these areas that students are given a well-rounded education that formulates the foundation of their learning years.
